“I want to do it all, learn it all, and absorb everything about low vision.”

So says Stephanie Aigbe, OD, New England College of Optometry’s first-ever resident in Low Vision Rehabilitation.

For competitive athletes, visual skills can make the difference between success and failure.

“Giving back to NECO is an investment in the future of optometry,” says Lorraine Fedyna, OD ’84.

Last fall, 63 partners in practice representing 44 organizations in the eye care industry gathered at the New England College of Optometry to share expertise and discuss the evolving nature of eye care and the implications for how optometric education must adapt.

On Sunday, August 11th, the Class of 2022 gathered with their friends, families, and colleagues to receive their White Coat before the fall semester begins.

At the NECO Center for Eye Care’s Low Vision Clinic at Perkins School for the Blind, NECO’s Barry Kran OD, FAAO, is testing the acuity of a 15-year-old boy. This is not a traditional exam: The boy is deafblind (meaning some level of vision impairment and some level of hearing impairment), has cerebral palsy, cognitive challenges, and limited ability to communicate.

The NECO women featured here are among the many innovators in our community.  We applaud the continued contributions to the field from the NECO faculty and researchers who are influencing the next generation of optometrists and the field of optometry.

On Thursday, April 4, 2019, the New England College of Optometry (NECO) community gathered for the 2019 Scholarship Ceremony.

New England College of Optometry (NECO) celebrated its 125th commencement at Boston Symphony Hall on May 19, 2019.

This fall, thirteen fourth year optometry students were selected to represent New England College of Optometry, NECO, while attending the Alcon Academy for Eye Care Excellence program in Fort Worth, Texas.
