Career Activities
Annual Career Symposium
We host a career symposium for students, alumni, faculty, and residents. This event offers workshops on interviewing, CV/resume writing, and a chance to share career advice and opportunities.
Practice Management Events
Students are invited to practice management events hosted by student clubs. Lecturers include industry professionals, marketing and media executives, financial advisors, and optometric industry professionals.
Graduate Strong
A panel discussion is presented by recent NECO graduates, offering current students real-time information on topics such as licensing, debt management, practice management, and insurance. The format includes a questions and answers session followed by dinner and networking.
Brunch with ODs
Brunch with ODs matches practicing NECO alumni with students for an informal discussion at local restaurants. Alumni provide advice and mentorship to students about the various modes of optometry practice today including, but not limited to, private practice, VA settings, academia, research, public health, industry, and government-related jobs.
Resume Review
Students and recent graduates are encouraged to submit their resumes and CVs for review by members of NECO’s Alumni Association Board on an ongoing basis.
