NECO’s primary focus is on educating optometrists, but it is also important to educate lawmakers as advocates for eye care policies that increase access to care, eliminate vision care disparities, and impact our profession.

Dr. Kristin White ‘13 shares her journey from NECO student to Community Health Center Director. She credits her experience during clinic rotations within community health centers as the catalyst for her career in community health and advocacy.

The American Academy of Optometry’s annual meeting was held in San Diego, California this year to record-breaking crowds. Our NECO faculty members stood out as leaders during the industry meeting as they presented over 20 lectures and poster presentations, were honored with several industry awards, chaired special interest groups, and even completed an inaugural leadership academy during AAO’s centennial event.

Dr. Sarah Y. Connolly ‘12 shares her journey from NECO to her current position as Senior Medical Science Liaison for  Regenxbio. She highlights all the milestones from NECO, clinical practice, and now as an industry professional.
