One of NECO’s greatest strengths is its clinical education.

It’s hard to believe that I am already a second-year student, one semester away from officially being a third year – time really flies!

For the last 2 months, I have been experiencing a new way of life in a remote Alaskan city called Bethel!

Visiting family can be a wonderful time to relax a little, eat amazing homemade food, and of course, catch up with relatives.

It feels as though I was packing my whole life away in a suitcase just a few days ago. I can’t believe that it has already been 2 weeks since I officially moved from Toronto to Boston.

Olivia Bass began her journey at NECO in the Fall of 2016 and through her hard work and dedication she received the highest score among all NECO students on the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) Part 1 exam.

Moving to a new city, starting on a new path for a future career, and meeting all kinds of people…it’s a little daunting, to say the least.
