Giving to the College
The financial support of alumni is a significant
factor in the College’s ability to provide student scholarships and
enhance our research and academic initiatives.
If you are interested in supporting the College,
you can make a gift to the Annual Fund, endow a scholarship, establish a
trust, include us in your estate plans, or make a gift of real
property. All contributions are tax deductible.
A Message from the 2007
Annual Fund Chair
Dear Colleague:
I am both pleased and honored to
serve as Chair of the 2007 Annual Fund. As a NECO alumnus, I have
actively supported the college through my own philanthropy.
I would like to share with you some
of my reasons for supporting the school as a way to encourage you to
make an annual fund gift:
-
NECO gave us the
education and skills to provide the best optometric care to our
patients;
-
The College gave us
an education that provided entry into a profitable and rewarding
profession in caring for others;
-
NECO continues to
be a leader in optometric education. This not only heightens the
value of our degree, but also insures the supply of new
optometrists. They also have the biomedical knowledge in disease
diagnosis and prevention that is becoming an important part of our
profession. For those of us seeking to grow our practices or
perhaps even beginning to look toward retirement, the College is an
important source for highly qualified optometrists;
-
NECO created and
maintains a community for all of us. As students, we made mistakes,
celebrated achievements and developed career paths together. We
forged lifelong friendships that proved valuable when we started out
and have endured and rejuvenated by alumni reunions and college
events.
Optometric education is expensive
for both today's students and for the college. The College needs our
gifts as much if not more than any other institution. Classes are
small, faculty are well-trained and clinical teaching and internships
are spread throughout the city, state and nation.
Supporting optometric education is a key step in helping to fully
integrate our profession within the medical community. Your contribution
to NECO is the most important contribution you can make to your
profession and our future. Please make
your gift today.
Sincerely,
Michael J. Cohn, OD, ‘77
2007 Annual Fund Chair
