Student Experience Survey on Safety, Sexual Harassment, and Campus Support

In 2021, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts enacted the 2021 Campus Sexual Assault Law, the cornerstone of the MA Campus Safety and Violence Prevention (CSVP) program. In addition to ensuring student access to campus and community support services, the law promotes data-driven approaches to preventing sexual harassment, misconduct, and assault. This includes directing schools to perform a campus climate survey no less than once every four years.

NECO administered its first Student Experience Survey on Safety, Sexual Harassment, and Campus Support to all enrolled students April 11 – May 9, 2025. Of 509 students surveyed, NECO received 264 responses, for a response rate of 52%. NECO will use the data gathered to inform its sexual misconduct prevention efforts, fulfilling its commitment to fostering a community where all students can learn, grow, and thrive.
