Work Study and campus employment help students supplement their education funding plan.
NECO offers two types of campus employment.
- Federal Work Study is available for U.S. students. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) annually for consideration. Funds are limited, so students are encouraged to file the FAFSA before the college’s April 1 priority deadline.
- Non-federal student employment is funded entirely by NECO and available to international students. After obtaining employment, international students will need to receive a United States Social Security Number before being paid.
Students who have been awarded work study or student employment will access job listings on the NECO student portal. Job applicants are encouraged to contact departments to learn more and schedule interviews. Positions may be available based on your employment history and skills. The college cannot guarantee jobs for all applicants.
A wide range of opportunities have been previously offered to students including: Front Desk Receptionist, Research Assistant, Library Aide, Admissions Office Assistant, Note Taker, Events Assistant, Admissions Ambassador, among additional employment positions.
Helping to build upon your resume for future employment! These work opportunities let you learn from NECO administrators and faculty while having the ability to partner with other students and grow your network. Your supervisor may even provide a letter of recommendation whereby, upon graduation, you can present it during future interviews. Most pay starts at the Boston minimum wage (currently $14.25 an hour), but may begin higher in a few positions.
