Wonderful opportunity for a medical Optometrist to practice alongside a team of Ophthalmologists in St Paul, MN – Earnings in the top 15-20% of all Optometrists in the Twin Cities!
Established in 1969, this private group practice is currently comprised of 15 Ophthalmologists, 4 Optometrists & provides a full range of eye care including cataract surgery, pediatrics, glaucoma, cornea, LASIK, Oculoplastics and retina. Their practice is growing and we would like a larger team of providers to fully meet the needs of our patients. You will be supported by dedicated ophthalmic & contact lens technicians ensuring you do what you do best, seeing & diagnosing patients. This means you will have support staff assisting in workups, refractions and contact lens fittings. Also know that if you would like to do some of these things on your own, you’re welcome to do so.

- 1-in-20 call

Responsibilities and duties:
- Examines patients’ eyes to diagnose vision problems and eye diseases; tests patients’ visual acuity, depth and color perception, and ability to focus and coordinate the eyes. Reviews medical history. Diagnoses conditions caused by systemic diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure, referring patients to other health practitioners as needed
- Analyzes test results and develops a treatment plan
- Prescribes/administers drugs to patients to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of vision problems
- Prescribes eyeglasses and contact lenses. Utilizes vision therapeutic techniques and rehabilitation techniques for those with low vision
- Documents patient condition and progress
- Follows infection control, safety, and quality improvement policies

Minimum requirements:
- Doctor of Optometry degree (O.D.) *Do not apply if you are not an Optometrist*
- Valid Minnesota license to practice Optometry
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Optometrist, with at least one year in a medical practice preferred
