The MSOS is the student chapter of the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists (MSO) and seeks to act as a liaison between the MSO and the student body. The MSO seeks to unite all Massachusetts optometrists in the effort to practice the highest standard of care by being intimately involved with legislative affairs, professional ethics, community health and education, and practice enhancement as well as continuing education and research.
The MSO promotes full scope of practice by all Doctors of Optometry through public education as well as advocating for legislation in favor of the profession. Students in the MSOS organization get a first-hand experience of how to support the profession early on through involvement in MSO.
Current Student Presidents: Tracy Weng & Maureen Raubach
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Diane Russo
Every student is a member of MSOS! $10 in dues is paid as an OD1 and covers all four years of school.
We encourage all students to be informed and stay involved!
