New England College of Optometry (NECO) is seeking a dynamic leader to head the comprehensive vision services at the Lynn Community Health Center (LCHC). LCHC is a non-profit, federally qualified health center providing high quality, culturally competent, medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, vision and enabling services to residents of greater Lynn in a patient centered medical home setting.
The ideal candidate is an energetic, skilled optometrist who will lead LCHC’s (www.lchcnet.org) vision services. The Director of Vision Services will be a member of the management team engaging in quality improvement and innovative models to integrate and deliver eye care in a patient centered medical home. Desirable characteristics include excellence in patient care, interest in clinical teaching, desire to work with a team, an understanding of community needs, cultural competency, quality improvement, and health care reform. Leadership and management skills, a business and practice management acumen and academic/teaching experience are also required.
The Director of Vision Services provides leadership in clinical care, education, health care compliance and business development on behalf of LCHC and NECO. The Director works in conjunction with the management teams of NECO and LCHC to assure that health outcomes, patient satisfaction, clinical productivity, financial, and teaching goals of the program are met.
Clinically, the Director provides care, co-manages, and coordinates patient needs with internal and external consultant ophthalmologist(s), as well as with other providers at the health center. The Director supervises professional staff, administrative staff, manages optical and attends management meetings at LCHC and NECO. This position includes a teaching appointment with the New England College of Optometry. Students of the College are assigned to clinical rotations at LCHC and the Director is responsible for quality clinical education and managing educational goals in conjunction with the College.
The Director will earn a highly competitive salary and benefits package, consistent with a leadership position, and will qualify for performance based incentives. Start date for this position is negotiable.
