Associate Professor of Optometry; Director, Pediatrics Special Programs

Dr. Srinivasan joined the NECO faculty as an assistant professor in 2012 in the Department of Primary Care. She is one of the instructors in Development, Strabismus and Amblyopia Course. In addition, she is a lab instructor for Principles and Practice of Optometry I and Pediatric Optometry. She is the Director of pediatric special program which includes Special Populations Rotation, Special Populations Experience Course and Pediatric Concentration program.

Dr. Srinivasan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in optometry from Elite School of Optometry (India) in 2005. After practicing for a brief period in India she received a master’s of science in physiological optics from the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry in 2009 followed by receiving Doctor of Optometry from The New England College of Optometry (NECO) in 2011 and completed a residency program in pediatric optometry in 2012.  She is the attending pediatric optometrist at the Codman Square Health Center and the NECO Mobile Eye Clinic.

Dr. Srinivasan's research interests include novel approaches for amblyopia detection in young children, pediatric vision screening in children from birth to three years of age and evaluating the efficacy of vision therapy. In 2015, Dr. Srinivasan received the Joanne Angle Investigator Award for her study   “Approaches for identifying children birth to three years of age at risk of having vision problems - novel visual development assessment tool; behavioral screening; and photo screening.” She has presented her work at local and national scientific gatherings.
