David Shein, MD

Adjunct Associate Professor

Dr. Shein has been a member of the faculty at the New England College of Optometry (NECO) since 2004. He currently teaches Clinical Medicine to second year optometry students at the College.  This course covers the human body in states of health and disease, with a focus on relationships to the ocular system. Dr. Shein is currently an Associate Professor at NECO..
Dr. Shein is medical director at Mount Auburn Cambridge IPA in Boston, on the active medical staff at the Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, and Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Shein previously worked at Verisk Health in Waltham, Massachusetts, as medical director. Previous to that, he held roles of internist, urgent care medical director and physician coordinator for Clinical Information Systems at MIT Medical. Dr. Shein graduated from Boston University School of Medicine and completed his internship in internal medicine and primary care residency at Harvard Medical School's Deaconess Hospital in Boston.
