Dr. Angela Abraham joined the faculty of New England College of Optometry, (NECO), in 2011 as an assistant clinical professor and Director of Eye and Vision Services at The Dimock Center in Roxbury, MA. As the clinical director, she coordinates all aspects of patient care and optical services. Dr. Abraham also serves as a clinical preceptor to interns in their second, third and fourth year clinical rotations from NECO. In addition to her responsibilities as a clinical preceptor, she also serves as the Residency Director in Community Health Optometry at the Dimock Center in conjunction with NECO; one of only two community health programs the nation.
Prior to joining the faculty of the New England College of Optometry, (NECO), Dr. Abraham was in private practice in South Carolina specializing in comprehensive eye care and ocular disease with an emphasis on glaucoma treatment and management. Areas of research interest include public health strategies and outcomes as related to eye and vision impairment and loss, reducing racial disparities in vision health care and strategies to improve cultural competency in the practice of community health optometry.
