MS/OD China Program Admissions

The New England College of Optometry enjoys a close affiliation with the Wenzhou Medical College in Wenzhou, China and participates in a joint degree program for students at Wenzhou Medical College.

The MS/OD Program

The MS/OD China Degree Program results in a MS in Ophthalmology/optometry from Wenzhou Medical College, China, and a OD (Doctor of Optometry) degree from New England College of Optometry. Applicants are required to have a five-year Bachelor of Medicine degree with an emphasis on optometry or ophthalmology. They must also meet the admissions requirements of both colleges. The course of study may take four to five years, with one to one-and-a-half years in the United States.

Prospective applicants must be enrolled at Wenzhou Medical College to enter the MS/OD China Program.

The international programs director and select WMC faculty assess applicants for eligibility.

Applicants are typically interviewed by the international programs director, WMC faculty, and a faculty person from NECO.
