- Four-year OD (Doctor of Optometry) Degree Program
The core of the College is the four-year OD program which provides students with a strong foundation in the visual, biomedical and clinical sciences, which are then integrated through a rich and diverse patient care experience. - Accelerated Optometric Degree Program (AODP)
The Accelerated Optometric Degree Program is designed for medical doctors and/or scientists who wish to become doctors of optometry.
International Programs
- Advanced Standing International Program (ASIP)
Through ASIP, graduates of international optometry programs may be admitted with advanced standing to the Doctor of Optometry degree program. - MS/OD China Program
The M.S./O.D. China curriculum combines the A.O.D.P. program and the Master of Science degree with joint clinical externships that include six months in Boston based rotations and six months at Wenzhou Medical College.
Graduate MS & Dual Degree Programs
- MS in Vision Science
This stand-alone degree is designed for candidates who wish to earn a MS degree without enrolling in the College’s OD degree program. Qualified candidates must have a college-level background in science or a professional degree.
- OD/MS Dual Degree
This dual degree program is designed for optometry students who wish to earn a MS degree while studying for the Doctor of Optometry degree. The MS degree in the dual degree program is available to qualified students who are enrolled in the College’s OD degree program. - OD/PhD Dual Degree
New England College of Optometry and the Division of Graduate Medical Sciences at the Boston University School of Medicine have established a combined Doctor of Optometry and PhD degree program. The core curriculum incorporates the professional curriculum leading to the OD degree at New England College of Optometry (NECO) and offers the PhD graduate programs of the Division of Graduate Medical Sciences at the Boston University (BU) School of Medicine. This sequence is similar to the MD/PhD program offered by BU.
