Main Circulation Desk
The desk offers checkout and renewal of library materials, course reserve items,
and laptops. Reserve materials include photocopies, books, slides,
videos, and other class related equipment such as BIOs and skulls.
This desk is always staffed by a Librarian and a Library Aide.
Marco Center for Instructional Technology
This is the Library's dedicated workstation
center, including eleven PCs, a duplexing printer, and computer and video projection facilities.
A special workstation contains a scanner, Zip drive, CD burner, and image
editing software. All workstations provide access to the Online Catalog, Medline, the
Internet, CDs, word processing and spreadsheet programs.
Educational Media Office
Next to the Marco Center, the Media Office offers assistance in designing and producing
graphics, images, slides, publications, and instructional materials. It also facilitates the in-house

The Periodicals / Reading Room
This is the Library's main study area. All study tables have Internet
ports available for laptop use. Current issues of optometry-related
journals as well as some leisure-reading materials are displayed on the
walls.
Reference Room
This section houses the Library's reference collection, including vision science
dictionaries, handbooks, and encyclopedias. Four workstations
provide access to the Online Catalog, Medline, several CDs, and the Internet.
Collections Room
The Library's main collection of books and journals can be found in the Collections Room.
The Library has a separate Audio-visual section that contains circulating
slides and videos.
Glass Study Rooms
Two of these rooms are available for quiet study. Internet ports for laptops are available
in each room. Room A can be reserved in advance.
The Cafe
The cafe becomes part of the Library after lunch hours during the week and all day on weekends.
There are four workstations in the cafe. No Laptops or
equipment are allowed in the Cafe.
Historical Collections
The beautiful, restored Historical Collections Quiet Study houses the
Library's Special Collection of theses, archived books, and college
yearbooks. This area also includes one large table for group quiet
study and four televisions with VCRs and headphones for viewing
videotapes.
