Research in optometric education is a broad concept which encompasses all areas related to education in optometry. Research in optometric education is a broad concept that encompasses all areas related to the delivery of information, knowledge and skills. Examples include, but are not limited to, the delivery of information, faculty development, curriculum development, active learning, cooperative learning, and problem based learning. Outcomes usually focus on improving better teaching and student learning. Research methods may include quantitative or qualitative designs.

At NECO, we strive to develop more effective methods to deliver information and develop curriculum. We also work to expand the curriculum to include new, innovative teaching methodologies. Research in Optometric Education measures quantitative and qualitative outcomes focused on the goal of continuing the commitment to teaching excellence at NECO.
