NECO Center for Eye Care


New England College of Optometry (NECO) Center for Eye Care, formerly New England Eye, refers to our comprehensive vision centers at Commonwealth and Roslindale. They are part of the NECO Clinical Network that includes our specialized locations at Southeastern MA and Perkins School for the Blind, as well as many additional clinical affiliates and community partnerships.

(NECO) Center for Eye Care

NECO Center for Eye Care encompasses our two flagship comprehensive vision centers, owned and operated by the College. At our Commonwealth and Roslindale locations, our doctors and students seek to improve the visual health of diverse populations through excellence in collaborative and community patient care.  These teaching facilities provides a complete range of eye care services including comprehensive exams, contact lens services, low vision care, pediatric care, vision therapy, and refractive surgery evaluations. Most of our students do at least one clinical placement at our flagship locations during their time at the College.

Our Commonwealth location is found directly on Commonwealth Ave, a mile from the main campus. The Commonwealth clinic and optical center have relocated to a beautiful new redesigned space on the first floor.  This location houses our Clinical Campus with the newly renovated clinic and dispensary, a clinical annex that offers rehabilitative vision services and clinical research, and our upcoming adjacent clinical training facility for students.

NECO Center for Eye Care Roslindale

4199 Washington Street, Roslindale, MA 02131

Our Roslindale location is found on Washington Street in Roslindale, a neighborhood of Boston. This location serves the Greater Roslindale location, providing a complete range of eye care services to people of all ages. Services include comprehensive exams, contact lens fitting, low vision care, pediatric care, vision therapy, and refractive surgery evaluations. Students gain clinical experience as part of their professional training.

A Network of Clinical Sites

Many NECO students do a clinical rotation at a NECO Center for Eye Care during their time at the College, providing patient-centered care in primary and specialty areas.  The Commonwealth and Roslindale centers are also a part of the New England College of Optometry (NECO) Clinical Network. The NECO Clinical Network is the patient care and clinical education subsidiary of New England College of Optometry.  Our students do clinical placements through this network of clinical sites throughout the Greater Boston area.

The NECO Clinical Network is one of the largest providers of optometric services in Massachusetts with nearly 90,000 patient visits annually in more than 43 locations, including many of Greater Boston's community health centers.  Learn more about our clinical network.
