February 13, 2013 - World Sight Day Raffle
The New England College of Optometry received a $1,000 stipend from the World
Sight Day Challenge to be used by a NECO student participating at a VOSH (Volunteer
Optometric Services to Humanity) mission in 2013. The cash prize was awarded, via
lottery, to Jessica Ly, Class of 2013. Jessica was selected from a group of applicants who
wrote a short essay describing their commitment to the underserved.
The purpose of Optometry Giving Sight is to improve the quality of life of people who
are needlessly blind or vision impaired simply because they do not have access to an eye
exam and a pair of glasses. To learn more about Optometry Giving Sight and World
