October 11, 2012 - Students Exceed World Sight Day Fundraising Goal
Below is an email sent from Stephanie Britton, Class of 2015 Vice President, to the NECO Community regarding World Sight Day Fundraising Efforts:
Dear NECO colleagues,
Happy World Sight Day!! On behalf of the student body, I would like to thank everyone for helping support us during our World Sight Day Challenge, as we raised funds for Optometry Giving Sight. I am excited and proud to say that within two weeks, we have not only reached our goal, but surpassed it! So far, we have raised $3,315 in donations and given sight to over 650 people!
I have never been more proud to see our NECO community come together and work toward a common cause as during the last couple of weeks. It’s amazing that in such a small amount of time we have changed the lives of over 650 people! Several posters have been put up in the Rotunda showing support toward this special cause. We can’t thank you enough for your support.
Earlier this week, a member of Optometry Giving Sight sent us an email saying, "I am so proud to be working with such an enthusiastic and passionate group of people. Thank you for your dedication and time. And thank you on behalf of all the thousands of people you are helping through your participation in the World Sight Day Student Challenge".
We plan to continue raising awareness and funds through the end of October. Please feel free to watch our team progress or donate at:
