September 9, 2012 - Barbara Kamens, Corporator, Celebrates 90th Birthday
Happy 90th Birthday, Barbara Kamens!
Mrs. Barbara Kamens celebrated her 90th birthday at the Winthrop Arms Hotel on August 3rd. She became an integral part of NECO during the 50 years that her husband, Dr. Hy Kamens, was on the faculty. Barbara is an enthusiastic member of the College community, and currently serves as a Corporator. She remains a beloved member of the NECO family, with a wonderful sense of humor, outgoing personality and a quick mind. She still attends many College events, often with her “adopted NECO daughter”, Tina Sanford Dahill from the Office of Administration.
Mrs. Kamens set up a scholarship fund, the Hyman R. Kamens Student Scholarship Fund, in Hy’s honor. The Fund received a number of $90 donations in honor of her birthday.
