April 27, 2011 - Recent Student Accomplishments

AOA Congressional Conference

Nicholas Onken, Jessica Ly, Nicholas Jones and Kelly Keane, all OD ’13, represented the New England College of Optometry (NECO) at the AOA Congressional Conference in Washington, D.C. earlier this month.  Over 600 optometrists and a record breaking 147 optometry students gathered to lobby for optometry and to raise awareness of the issues faced by the profession with their respective state congressmen and senators. NECO and the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists were represented by Dr. Aurora Denial and Dr. Clifford Scott.

Wal-Mart’s Project Foresight

Siblings, Dara and Eric Auyeung, both Class of 2014, won the school level business plan competition for Wal-Mart’s Project Foresight.  Dara and Eric will be one of ten teams at the national competition at the June AOA Meeting in Salt Lake City.
