E. Albert Glickman
October 14, 1920 - November 4, 2010


Former member of the Board of Trustees, E. Albert Glickman of Boca Raton, Florida and Belmont, Massachusetts, an optometrist who practiced in Brighton and Dorchester for over 50 years, died November 4, 2010.  He was 90. 

He graduated from Massachusetts College of Optometry in 1942, where he served as the president of the College’s alumni association. 
 
Dr. Glickman served as president of the Boston Society of Optometrists.  He was on the executive board of the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists and was Massachusetts chairman of the American Optometric Foundation.
 
Through the years, Dr. Glickman was very active in community affairs.  He served as president of the Brighton Lions Club, and trustee of the Brighton YMCA. He also held high offices in the Allston-Brighton Medical Council, the Allston-Brighton Citizens Council, and the Brighton Historical Society.  He was honored with the Brighton Citizen Award.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Shirley (Green).  He was the beloved father of Barbara (and husband Donald Grenadir) of Duxbury, Paula (and husband Brian Appel) of New York City, and Rena of New York City; and the adored “Papa” of Jonathan Grenadir and Li Bing Appel.
