Jobs and the Economy

The best single resource for finding information about the economies of the provinces (including wages for optometrists) is the Provincial Perspectives page on the Job Futures site. This is actually a set of links to various pages that are maintained by either Human Resources Development Canada or the provinces themselves. Techniques for searching may differ -- it can be helpful to remember that the National Occupation Code (NOC) for optometry is "3121."

You can also look at the Labour Market Information site, particularly at the About the Local Labour Market search tool.

The Canadian Institute of Health Information issues a regular report called Canada's health Care providers.  There is also a copy of this in the Library's Reference Collection at RA410.9 .C2 C36 2007
