NECO Authors in Optometric Education

NECO graduate Andrea Murphy, OD ('08), VA Resident in Chicago; Dorothy Hitchmoth, OD, and Richard Frick, OD, Affiliated Clinical Faculty at the VA in White River Junction, VT, co-authored an article, "A Case of Bilateral Ocular Ischemic Syndrome: a Teaching Case Report."

The article provides teaching guidance for instructors using this case as a basis for discussion, and appears in v.34 #2 (Winter 2009) of Optometric Education, available electronically via the library's journals pages, or by clicking the link below:

Extended Hours for Exams

Beginning on Thursday, February 19, the library will be open for extended hours as follows:

Thu. -- Fri., 2/19 -- 2/20: 7:30 am -- 10 pm

Sat., 2/21: 9 am -- 6 pm

Sun., 2/22: 11 am -- 8 pm

Mon. -- Fri., 2/23 -- 12/17: 7:30 am -- 10 pm

Sat., 2/28: 9 am -- 6 pm

Sun., 3/1: 11 am -- 6 pm

Mon. -- Thu., 3/2 -- 3/5: 7:30 am -- 10 pm

Fri., 3/6: 7:30 am -- 7 pm

The Marco Center opens at the same time as the Library during this period.

Boards Study Materials Available

Boards are coming up... Just a reminder that the library has a special section full of study materials for all parts of the NBEO, including the brand-new revised Berkeley Guide for Part 1. Boards materials are on the shelf under the window by the bookstacks, and can be identified by the pink stickers on their spines. These items can be checked out for two days.

NECO Authors in Optometric Education

Dr. Barry Kran is the guest editorialist (p.46) and the author of an article titled "Management of anisometropic amblyopia and head posture in a patient with oculocutaneous albinism: A Teaching case report", on p.54.

Barbara McGinley is one of several experts offering their opinions on "How has teaching changed over the past 20 years, and what do you predict for the next 20 years?" in the issue's Think Tank... department, on p.48.
