The Board of Trustees of The New England College of Optometry cordially invite you to the Inauguration of Elizabeth Chen as the eleventh president. The Inauguration is a time to celebrate the College as a distinguished leader in optometric education, eye care, research, and public service.

U.S. Rep. Capuano, Mayor Menino to Speak at Inauguration

U.S. Rep. Michael E. Capuano, the founder and co-chair of the Congressional Committee on Community Health Centers and a member of the Congressional Vision Caucus, and Boston Mayor Tom Menino, will be among the participants at the inauguration of President Elizabeth Chen on Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Boston Latin School.

Capuano, a leading human rights advocate and former mayor of Somerville, will be the keynote speaker. Mayor Menino, who is serving his fourth term and is a former president of the U.S. Conference on Mayors, will offer a welcome on behalf of the city of Boston.

We encourage our guests to take public transportation to the Inauguration. Parking is limited in Boston’s Fenway and Back Bay areas. We will provide a special shuttle to take guests from Boston Latin School to the Luncheon Reception at the College at 424 Beacon Street. A shuttle will also return guests to Boston Latin School.
