T35 Summer Research Lecture Series Improving Cone Cell Metabolism Prolongs Vision in Retinitis Pigmentosa Mice

Please join us as Dr. Shan Ma from UMass Medical School presents, “Improving Cone Cell Metabolism prolongs Vision in Retinitis Pigmentosa Mice.” Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) is a degenerative eye disease that leads to blindness. The talk focuses on the mechanism of photoreceptor degeneration in RP and introduces a potential therapeutic approach which can prolong vision in the disease.

The lecture will take place on July 12, 2016 at 12:30 as part of the T35 Summer Research Lecture Series.  COPE approval pending.  Please direct any questions to Emily Summers at summerse@neco.edu

Research Lecture Series

The Research Lecture Series invites recognized vision scientists to present their latest research. These presentations are followed by discussions and informal receptions, allowing the College community an opportunity to become better acquainted with researchers and projects in other laboratories. The T35 Summer Research Lecture series supports the T35 Summer Research program for optometry students.
